Prep Baseball: Monte slips past LQPV

MADISON -- Troy Hendrickson's only strikeouts got him out of two big jams and helped Montevideo top Lac qui Parle Valley 4-2 in a West Central South Confernece baseball game Saturday.

Hendrickson, who relieved starter Christian Brabender in the sixth inning, got a two-out strikeout to end the Eagle threat after Scott Bormann hit a two-run home run.

In the seventh, LQPV (7-5, 9-7) loaded the bases, but Hendrickson got another two-out strikeout to preserve the win.

The Thunder Hawks (7-7, 8-7) scored three runs in the first inning on a Tyler Kuno single, an error and a Colton Vien single.

Brabender pitched the first 5Xc innings for Montevideo.

Sam Haas went the distance for LQPV. He gave up four runs on six hits, struck out nine and walked one.
