Prep Softball: KMS sweeps TMB to win Camden title

MURDOCK -- Sam Dunn fired a five-inning no-hitter while striking out nine and Erin Haglund followed with a two-hitter and 11 strikeouts in the finale as Kerkhoven swept Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 13-0 and 8-1 to capture the Camden Conference title outright.

The win in the first game was also the 300th career victory for KMS coach Eileen Suter.

In the opener, Courtney Olson went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs, Brooke Carlson went 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Brielle Hauge, Ellen Johnson, Lori McCain and Lyndsay Jorgenson had two hits apiece.

KMS (14-0, 16-0) sent 12 batters to the plate during its eight-run first inning.

In the second game, Olson went 4-for-4 and drove in two runs, McCain had two hits and knocked in four runs, Carlson finished 3-for-4, and Johnson and Haglund had two hits each.

The Renville County West Jaguars led 6-1 after three innings. Morgan Elliot made the lead stand finishing with a five-hitter with no walks. All three M/C runs were unearned.

Ashley Peterson went 3-for-3 and Lexi Freiborg hit an RBI double. Brittany Krogman added two hits and an RBI.

Jamie Lundberg was 3-for-3 for at the Danube field.

MACCRAY led 6-3 in the seventh before the Blackjacks tied it on back-to-homers by McKenzie Franzky and Kelsey Jurgenson, followed later by a fielder's choice RBI.

MACCRAY then scored three in the top of the eighth as Christal Stavne drove in two runs with a single and Khia Lohse knocked one in on a fielder's choice.

Hailey Goeman, who went 4-for-5, picked up the win in relief. Stavne also hit a 2-run HR and finished 3-for-4 with four RBI.

Jurgenson and Moriah Kuhlmann had three hits apiece for Dawson-Boyd.

MACCRAY scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a walkoff single by Erica Bonnema. Hailey Goeman started the rally with a single, then stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch.

Goeman also scattered eight hits in going the distance for the win.

Kelsey Jurgenson went 3-for-4, including a double and a triple, for Dawson-Boyd. Kendra Lindblad went 2-for-3.

Sara Rajewsky earned the win in the pitcher's circle and also uncorked a solo home run at the plate to spark Benson/Hancock. Rajewsky gave up eight hits, two earned runs and struck out six.

Rajewsky, Kenzie Jensen and Tasha Wiebold had two hits apiece for the BraveOwls, while Ashly Sneller went 3-for-4 for Yellow Medicine East. Allie Trudel added two hits for the Sting.
