Lakeview 10, YME 1

Yellow Medicine East played a close game with Lakeview until a rough seventh inning put the game out of reach in a 10-1 victory for the Lakers.

The Sting were down 3-1 in the seventh when the Lakeview leadoff hitter reached on an error. Another hit followed and then the Lakers' Lyndsey Peterson hit a deep fly to center.

The ball popped out of the glove of the Sting center fielder's glove and went over the fence for a three-run home run.

Before it was all over, the Lakers had put up seven runs.

YME scored its run when Nena McCalla hit a first inning double and scored on a two-out single by Allie Trudel.

Eden Valley-Watkins 10, ACGC 0

ACGC ran into a hot arm and fell to undefeated Eden Valley-Watkins on Friday in Eden Valley.

EVW (5-0) scored seven first-inning runs, which proved to be more than enough help for starter and winner Baylee Lahr. She allowed one hit and struck out five in the five-inning game.

ACGC aided the EVW cause with four errors.

"She's a good thrower," ACGC head coach Brad Nelson said of Lahr. "She throws a good rise ball and we couldn't hit it. We made a few mistakes in the field and they capitalized."

The Falcons fell to 3-3, and they play next at BOLD at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
