Prep Softball: Fighting Saints blast 3 HRs in win over NLS

MURDOCK -- Three home runs powered Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg and the Fighting Saints blew out New London-Spicer 14-4 in a non-conference game Monday.

Sam Dunn went deep with a two-run shot in the fourth, part of a huge day in which she went 5-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.

Courtney Olson also homered in the fourth, another two-run shot. She was 2-for-4 with a double and drove in four runs.

An inning later, Lyndsay Jorgenson, who was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, hit a solo shot.

Erin Haglund and Brielle Hauge also had two hits each in the Fighting Saints' offensive outburst.

Haglund got the win with three scoreless innings in relief of Dunn.

Amanda Radel took the loss for the Wildcats.

Hannah Stehn doubled for NLS.

Litchfield rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning but couldn't come all the way back in a Wright County Conference game Monday in Litchfield.

GLS's Jackie Stifter homered, doubled and drove in two runs.

The Dragons' Alexi Besser had two hits and drove in three runs, and Jayme Brickey had a double among her two hits and drove in two runs.

The Dragons fell to 0-7 overall and play next at home against Annandale at 4:30 p.m. today.

Eden Valley-Watkins rode a Jamie Scherer home run and four-run fourth inning to a 5-2 victory over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Monday in a Central Minnesota Conference game.

Brianna Lieser, Brittany Roelike and Becca Gruber each had two hits for the Jaguars and Kendra Braegelman was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Michelle Sanders started and took the loss with five earned runs through six innings.
