SLAYTON -- Erin Haglund pitched both games as the Kerkhoven-Murdock Fighting Saints shutout Lakeview 1-0 and and Edgerton 4-0 in the Section 3A playoffs on Saturday.

Haglund allowed only one hit over the 14 innings, throwing a no-hitter against the Lakers.

Haglund didn't give up a hit or a walk and fanned 10 Lakers.

The game's only run scored in the bottom of the fourth when Haglund double, took third on a pitch in the dirt and buzzed home on Lori McCain's single, one of her two hits.

Lyndsey Peterson five-hitter with one walk still wasn't enough to overcome the Saints, now 22-0 after Saturday's two victories.

In Game Two, the Saints got all the runs they needed in the first inning when Sam Dunn walked and Erin Haglund and Brielle Hauge hit back-to-back doubles.

Haglung fanned nine without issuing a walk. The only hit was a single by Bri VanDyke, the losing pitcher. VanDyke allowed four hits, walked five and struck out eight.

Also in 3A, Dawson-Boyd's bid to reach the finals was upended by Lakeview 7-1 and then, in the comeback bracket, by Edgerton 6-2.
