Girls tennis roundup: Benson clips West Central Area

BENSON -- Megan Vergin and Kendra Dingmann pulled out a three-set win at 2-doubles to give Benson the decisive point as the Braves edged West Central Area 4-3 Monday in a non-conference match.

Vergin/Dingmann won the opening set without losing a game before falling 6-3 in second set. The senior-junior combo then won the third set 6-4 to give Benson its fourth win of the day.

The Braves improved to 5-10 with the victory.

Also winning for Benson was Kelly Saunders 6-2, 6-2 at 1-singles, Maggie Buyck 6-0, 6-1 at 3-singles and Melanie Reese/Kelsey Rajewsky 6-4, 6-4 at 1-doubles.
