Girls hockey: Icebreakers shut out Willmar

ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud's Mackenzie Feeny scored 36 seconds into the game, and the Icebreakers blanked the Willmar Cardinals 5-0 on Friday in St. Cloud.

St. Cloud scored again at 7:17 in the first period on a goal by Samantha Eisenreich and added two more goals in the second and one in the third.

The Icebreakers put 26 shots on goal on Willmar goalie Madison Sandberg, while the Cardinal offense could only manage 16.

"The main thing is we didn't come out ready to play," Cardinals' head coach JaColby Anderson said. "St Cloud came out with a little more fire, a little more intensity, but as a whole we're not too worried where we're sitting right now."
