Local Roundup: Blackjacks take Ortonville to the wire

DAWSON — Ortonville mounted a two-game comeback to defeat Dawson-Boyd 3-2 Monday night.

The Blackjacks earned wins in sets two and three but Ortonville bounced back to take the victory.

Lydia Aafedt ran the Blackjack offense with 35 set assists and added 15 digs.

Mary Bothun tallied 14 kills.

Willmar second in WCC

The Willmar bowling team sits in second place in the West Central Conference standings after three weeks.

Willmar is 5-2, two games behind 7-0 Alexandria. Yellow Medicine and New London-Spicer are tied for third at 4-3, Benson is fifth at 3-5 and Ortonville is 0-7.

Last week, at the Benson Bowler, Willmar defeated Benson 4-1, downed Ortonville 3-1-1 and lost 4-1 to Alexandria.

This week, Willmar plays Alexandria, New London-Spicer and Benson in Granite Falls.
