CLARA CITY — MACCRAY's attack has been dominant almost all season, and that was exactly the case on Tuesday night against Lac qui Parle Valley.

Eight different players recorded a kill and Sydney Schwitters had 26 assists as the Wolverines came away with a 25-15, 25-7, 25-11 win over the Eagles.

After LQPV kept matters closer in the first sets, MACCRAY, which entered the day ranked No. 10 in Class A according to QRF, turned on the jets. The Wolverines outscored the Eagles 50-18 over the final two sets.

MACCRAY's service gave it a hefty advantage, with 13 of its 75 points on the evening coming off aces. Four different players recorded three each.

Receiving feeds from Schwitters, Piper Asche led the match with 14 kills for MACCRAY.

Esther Grussing tallied a career-high 52 set assists as Willmar earned a 3-1 victory Tuesday night.

She passed to a slew of teammates as 10 Cardinals recorded a kill. Caitlin Ogdahl and Carly Wedel led the charge with 13 kills each.

"Except for that third game we had everything going well," said Willmar head coach Traci Grussing. "We're figuring out that we need to hit the ball hard and be aggressive. Tonight we were able to use everybody and keep (Brainerd) guessing."

Abby Stark finished with the only other set assists in the game and also led the team in ace serves (two) and digs (29).

Willmar will play host to Alexandria at 7 p.m. Thursday.
