Prep baseball roundup: Kinny tames Wildcats

LITCHFIELD — Zach Kinny fanned nine in the first three innings and 12 over five to propel Litchfield to a 6-2 win over Wright County rival New London-Spicer.

The Wildcats solved the Dragons’ senior momentarily in the fourth inning when Tyson Gislason and Lucas Nordmeyer stroked back-to-back RBI doubles.

The home team got off to an explosive start when Eddie Estrada swatted a home run at Optimist Field fence driving in Mike Spreiter and Dylan Koll, who had reached on base hits off Logan Payne, who threw all six innings allowing 11 hits.

Austin Larson threw two perfect innings of relief.

The Lakers jumped on the Bulldogs in the first two innings and won the non-conference game in Glenwood on Tuesday.

Jon Nygaard, Austin Giese and Austin Ostrander all drove in runs for Minnewaska. Matt Paulson went six innings for the win.

Caleb Burris, Nathan Meyer and Matt Quade all had a pair of hits for the Bulldogs.

The Lakers are 2-1 overall and play at Benson at 3 p.m. Thursday.
