Boys Golf Roundup: Blackjacks cruise to Camden title

MARSHALL — Dawson-Boyd’s Easton Popma and Christian Thoen both shot 81 to lead the Blackjacks to victory in the Camden Conference Championships Monday at the Marshall Golf Club.

The Blackjacks finished at 346, 21 strokes ahead of Lac qui Parle Valley. MACCRAY was fourth at 373 and the Wolverines’ Dean Schroeder was third individually after shooting an 82.

Dawson-Boyd won the conference championship with 24 points.

Lac qui Parle Valley and MACCRAY both finished with 19 points but Lac qui Parle Valley won a tiebreaker for second place.

The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars shot 185 on their home course Monday at Prairie View. Winning was Rockford with a 170. BBE, paced by Jackson Gregory’s 40, dropped into third place, a stroke behind second-place Osakis.

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart finished at 358, two strokes behind winner Springfield Monday at the conference tournament. Jon Burgstahler and Zach Almich each shot 88 for the Mustangs.
