Prep Baseball Roundup: BOLD's Kramer no-hits top-ranked Sleepy Eye St. Mary's

SLEEPY EYE — Riley Kramer no-hit Class A’s top-ranked team, leading BOLD to a 6-0 win over Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Thursday in the Section 2A playoffs.

Kramer worked all seven innings and issued just one walk while striking out four.

BOLD improved to 13-6 and plays next at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Mankato against the winner of today’s Waterville-Elysian-Morristown and Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial game.

Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s, 20-2, remains alive in the losers bracket.

On Thursday, BOLD’s Trent Athmann was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, and Logan Sandgren and Tyler Rock both had two hits, drove in runs and scored.

Tyler Donner hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Dylan Abraham hit a three-run shot in the fourth to lead MACCRAY over Edgerton in the Section 3A playoffs on Thursday in Granite Falls.

The Wolverines, now 10-7, play Springfield at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richter Field in Granite Falls.

Donner also had a double among his three hits and finished with three RBIs. Caleb Melin and Cody Boonstra also had a pair of hits for the Wolverines.

Tyler Mossenbeier got the win, working a complete game and striking out 11.

Central Minnesota Christian’s Grant Hoekstra doubled in the sixth inning with one out to break up Shawn Anderson’s bid for a no-hitter in an elimination game in Granite Falls.

Anderson finished the game striking out 10 and walking just two batters to collect his third one-hit shutout on the season for Springfield (19-4).

The Bluejays finish the season 10-5, three years after not having a varsity program.

MARSHALL — Tyler Henrichs hit a grand slam in Morris/Chokio-Alberta’s nine-run third inning and the Tigers raked New London-Spicer 11-1 in the Section 3AA loser’s bracket on Thursday.

The Tigers, now 16-3, play next at 2 p.m. Saturday in Marshall.

Henrichs was 2-for-3 and Lincoln Berget was 3-for-3 and drove in three runs.

Bryce Jurgenson 2-for-3 with a run batted in and he also pitched the final inning in relief of winner Jacob Torgerson.

NLS’ Ryan Vraa had two of the Wildcats’ four hits.
