The Minnesota Vikings' Twitter feed early this morning reported that Christian Ponder will miss Sunday's game in London with a fractured rib.

That means backup Matt Cassel will be the team's starting quarterback for the Noon CDT game with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both the Vikings and Steelers are looking for their first win of the season as both squads are 0-3.

The Star Tribune has reported that Ponder was on the field but not participating with teammates during practice Friday morning. Ponder had a CT scan on Monday, head coach Leslie Frazier said, and the team feels it is too risky for him to play Sunday, the Star Tribune also reported.

Cassel, who signed with the Vikings this offseason, has started 62 games in his nine-year career.
