Midwest Cup: Team Minnesota golfers trail Missouri by 4

WILLMAR -- Team Missouri holds a four-point lead over Team Minnesota and two Minnesota golfers are tied just one stroke off the lead after Day Two of the Midwest Cup on Saturday at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Team Missouri finished the second round of the three-round event with 224 points. Team Minnesota, the first-day leader, has 220 points and Team Kansas is third with 187 points.

The 54-hole Cup, which features 10-player teams from eight states, concludes with 18-hole rounds today at Eagle Creek.

Kansas' Bradley Lane shot a 5-under 67 on Saturday and leads with a 7-under 137 after Day Two. First-day leader, Minnesota's Justin Burleson, shot 72 on Saturday and is among three golfers tied at 138. His Minnesota teammate Joe Conzemius shot 69s on Friday and Saturday, as did Missouri's Wayne Fredrick, to tie Burleson at 138.

Two other Minnesota golfers, Eagle Creek's Danny Anderson and Matt Gorans, are among three players tied for ninth at 2-under 142. Fourteen golfers are within six shots of the lead heading into Sunday's final round.
