WILLMAR -- Ridgewater College had one champion, plus a runner-up, at their own wrestling open on Saturday.

Jake Patnode, a sophomore from Brainerd, won at 141-pounds. He decisioned Edgar Merecado of Dickinson State (N.D.) 7-5 in the final.

Nate Frederich, a freshman from Montgomery-Lonsdale, lost a 7-3 to Brian Beilke of Minnesota Southwest State for the 133-pound championship.

Also placing top four for Ridgewater were Josh Anderson, Chase Temple, Martin Hagen and Evan Stock.
