Ridgewater volleyball team improves to 15-0

WILLMAR -- Playing its 15th match in 22 days, it's easy to see whay the Ridgewater College volleyball team is battling through a number of injuries.

Still, the Lady Warriors swept Riverland 25-11, 25-21, 25-22 to improve to 15-0 on the season.

"It was a good win for us, although we still had a higher number of unforced errors than we'd like," said Ridgewater coach Joe Sussenguth. "About three-fourths of our team is either out, recovering from or fighting through some type of injury. With that many matches, it's understandable that we are a little banged up."

Sussenguth was pleased to see the overall team effort.

"This team has been working extremely hard and everyone has stepped up to contribute to our success so far," he mentioned. "Fortunately, our schedule will slow down after next Monday."

Against Riverland (0-5, 3-11), Ridgewater got12 killas from Maggie Zirk and sevwen kills from Macy McKay. Aimee Johnson served three aces and Brittany VanDrehle had two. Molly Hurrle was credited with 23 assists and Brando Bodin hadeight digs.

Ridgewater next plays Minnesota West Wednesday in Worthington.
