Cards split CLC doubleheader in Brainerd

BRAINERD- Hannah Johnson laced a ball to right field to drive in Marina Moyers and cap a seven-run fifth inning for a Willmar come-from-behind victory against Brainerd.

The Cardinals logged four hits and three walks in the fifth inning to rally from an 8-2 deficit and finish the game in walk-off fashion.

Ashley Prahl finished the game with two of the team's six hits, including a one-out triple in the fifth inning to start the rally and score Johnson, who ultimately proved to be the hero.

Brainerd made the most of 10 hits, scoring 11 times in a win to give Willmar its first Central Lakes Conference loss of the season.

Willmar racked up eight hits but Brainerd kept its foot on the gas, scoring five runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

Lexi Roby finished the game with three hits and four RBIs for the Warriors.
