WILLMAR—The Willmar Stingers announced three hirings to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2017 season.

Eric Vasquez will become the fourth manager in the team's eight years when the Stingers open the season on May 30.

Vasquez is currently in his second season as an assistant coach with Utah Valley University, where he arrived after serving as the Director of Baseball Operations for California State-Northridge.

"Getting a chance to coach in a league as great as the Northwoods [League] is something that I'm truly looking forward to," Vasquez said. "The caliber of players is unmatched across the country and I look forward to being a part of the Stingers family."

Joining Vasquez as assistant coaches will be Bo Henning and Cameron Jergens. Henning, a former pitcher in the Northwoods League and current assistant for Sacramento City College, will serve as the team's pitching coach.

Jergens is in his second season with Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, where he led the offense with the highest batting average in its conference. Jergens played five years of college baseball before beginning his career in coaching with Daytona State College.

Willmar's player roster will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
