June Lynne, director of the Chippewa Historical Society, and volunteers welcome as many as 4,000 visitors each year to historic Chippewa City. It features 24 buildings on 20 acres. Each building tells a story of the pioneer era. The Chippewa Bank includes fixtures from two banks in the county. The door and vault were from the Eliason Bank in Montevideo. Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota board members and staff tour the current Vasa Children’s Home located across from the Anderson Center in Red Wing.
