Geese take advantage of a temporary lake at Vos Park in Willmar on Thursday. Heavy rains fell in the region overnight, with 4.11 inches officially recorded in Willmar and 9.45 inches in Redwood Falls. The Granite Falls, Maynard and Clara City area and an area from Bird Island to Morton recorded amounts of 6 inches and more.

Trails4Transplants, an organ donation advocacy group, is in the midst of an horse ride across North Dakota and Minnesota to raise money and promote awareness for eye, tissue and organ donation. A stop in Appleton, Minn., is shown Wednesday. Riders are expected to stop Thursday in Granite Falls and Friday in Renville. The last stop is Bird Island, where a celebration is set Saturday.
