Willmar Area Food Shelf Executive Director Alana Ziehl goes over the plans for the food shelf remodel project. Included in the plan is a new receiving/warehouse addition along with a larger area for patrons to collect their food orders. Work is on schedule on the new RC Hospital and Clinics facility on the east side of Olivia along U.S. Highway 212. A capital campaign has received more than $1.3 million in contributions to make it possible to add equipment and improvements that could not be funded as part of the original project.

Randy Mord, from Mord’s Hardware Hank and Plumbing in New London, is hoping 2,000 people will buy $200 punch cards to help fund up-front costs to turn a section of the hardware store into a grocery store. New London has been without a grocery store since 2009.
