New playground equipment being installed at Minnegasco Park is for children ages 2-5. Work began last week and is expected to be complete before Memorial Day weekend there and at two other parks in Willmar. Installation is scheduled to begin in July at three more Willmar parks. The Rev. Michael Laidlaw leads Overcomers International Fellowship, which operates facilities in Willmar and St. Cloud for men who need specialized housing. These homeless men may have physical disabilities, mental health concerns, chemical dependency problems or be trying to re-enter society after serving a sentence.

Twenty-three children shopped with Willmar police officers, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office reservists and county corrections officers and dispatch staff during the annual “Shop with a Cop” event.
