Derreck Scharn of Willmar pedals east Wednesday on Trott Avenue Southwest in Willmar. Scharn said his goal is to ride 500 kilometers from Dec. 23 to 31. He's more than halfway to that goal and was planning to ride 35 miles Wednesday. He'll probably have the weather he needs to meet his goal.
