Ella Anderson, a resident at Sterling House in Willmar, right, displays her cake Friday as she celebrates her 100 th birthday. Anderson was born and raised in Kerkhoven and taught at a one-room schoolhouse in the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg area. She has also been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Brendon Johnson Post 223 in Kerkhoven for the past 68 years.
