Ryan Haines, 15, an Eagle Scout from Willmar Pack 432 finishes up work on his Eagle Scout project of building three raised gardens for the community garden near the Willmar Community Center on Saturday. Haines began work on his project in May and has worked on it through the summer with help from 15 collaborators.  The gardens will be of benefit to elderly and disabled clients at the community garden.

Jack Tatge, left, of Willmar and Stanley Brosch of St. Paul work Friday morning in the Hope Garden on Darlene Bratberg's farm north of Spicer. The garden supplies food for the Hope Care Pantry, the Harvest Church Care Pantry and the food shelves in New London and Willmar. The garden is located on about a quarter of an acre of land east of Bremer Bank and offers local gardeners the chance to grow on plots that are about 10 feet long and 4 feet wide, according to archives.
