Fred Cogelow, a renowned woodcarver from Willmar, on Wednesday unveils one of his carvings at Willmar Public Library. The carving, entitled "Old Man Kench (... and the Ladies)", is a relief sculpture Cogelow said he carved from a piece of butternut more than 25 years ago. Pre-school story hour began Wednesday at the Willmar Public Library with the theme "Talk like a pirate," and Quinn Peterson, 3, of Willmar, above, looked just the part. Story hours are scheduled from 10-10:30 a.m. and 2-2:30 p.m. each Wednesday through Oct. 28. Future events will center on llamas, popcorn, fall and pumpkins. Children must be at least 3 years old to attend.
