The Milan Bridge, part of a historic district and made famous in Robert Bly's poem, "Driving Toward the Lac qui Parle River," will be replaced in 2019 by an open, concrete structure. The Minnesota Department of Transportation's Willmar office obtained permission to replace rather than rehabilitate the 1938 structure.
