It’s been more than 90 days since the Taiwanese owners of the UMEC USA building in downtown Willmar received a city permit to demolish the structure after the City Council declared the building unsafe last February. UMEC’s electronics business left the building last September and the company has not responded to city inquiries about the company’s intent to address the building’s unsafe structural issues.
