It was all about pi and pie Monday for students at Willmar Middle School as they celebrated the mathematical concept with a variety of competitions that included a cherry pie eating contest. Arianna Haverly, an eighth-grader, pictured, won the contest. In an ironic twist, Mary Hanson, the school's health teacher, was the only faculty member who participated in the contest. Students also took part in basketball shooting tourneys, timed Rubik's cube contests, egg tossing and a tug of war. Tribune photos by...
