Over 100 runners set off just after 9 a.m. Saturday with the mercury at minus-13 for the Frozen 5k Run in Spicer. Because of the wind-chill factor (minus-30), the race was shortened to 2.2 miles. Jacob Yurek of St. Cloud was the winner of the men's race, while Tracy Sik of Willmar was the women's winner. Tribune photo by Rand Middleton

Winter winds keep blowing as snow is seen blowing around this tree in a farmfield, north of Roseland, Wednesday. The harsh winds and bone-chilling temperatures have kept many willing outdoors enthusiast from cross country skiing, snowmobiling and even ice fishing.
