Volunteers assemble new playground equipment Saturday at Centennial Park in Atwater. Over 35 volunteers worked three hours under the direction of Steve Mead, a certified installer from Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground. The playground was made possible through donations from the Willmar Community Foundation, City of Atwater, Atwater Lions, Active Acres 4-H Club, and Gametime Equipment. The equipment is expected to be ready for kids by Thursday. (Rand Middleton | Tribune)

Jaycees Park in northeast Willmar was all the rage Wednesday for Tucker Fredeen, 3, of Willmar, as he spent the afternoon hanging out with his mom, Ashley Zieske. First he took to the monkey bars with a little assistance from mom and then it was off for a spin on the new merry-go-round.
