Nora and Dale Haglund, of Brooten, have a pending purchase agreement to sell 13 acres of farmland for development of a solar farm that’s part of a 100-megawatt project spread out over 16 counties. The Haglunds hope the project moves forward, and Dale Haglund says the Brooten City Council is in favor of it as well.

Turbines that are part of the Danielson Wind project in Meeker County have been producing electricity since March 2011. Norfolk Wind Energy is seeking to erect similar wind turbines in Renville County to produce electricity for sale on the grid and to use electricity generated during off-peak periods to produce hydrogen for sale to industrial customers.
