Three young hunters enjoyed success on their first-ever turkey hunt last Saturday in Renville County. The roof of a warehouse collapsed Monday at Perkins Lumber on Willmar's north side, causing major damage to the structure. According to Dan Anderson, vice president of Perkins Lumber, the new snowfall throughout the day, combined with the nearly foot of ice already on the roof from prior ice storms, caused the roof to collapse. A trailer carrying 38,000 pounds of Jennie-O turkey breast separated from a semi on Kandiyohi County Road 5 near the intersection of Highway 29, west of Lake Florida, at 12:30 a.m. Friday, tipping over into the ditch and spilling piles of meat. The trailer was totaled, but Sgt. Gary Wyffels of the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office wasn't sure about the damage to the semi. The semi driver suffered no injuries.
