Army National Guard Spc. Grant Schackman, an Iraq War veteran, talks to second-grade students Monday at Kennedy Elementary School in Willmar about his work maintaining military vehicles at the Willmar Armory and some of the equipment soldiers use in the field. Schackman addressed the students in the classroom of Amber DeBoer, his sister. Students also had the opportunity to share lunch with a veteran as part of the school’s Veterans Day activities.
