On a rare blue-sky day with the wind chill still well below zero on Friday afternoon, volunteer Debbie Dixon, a Ridgewater College freshman from Mahnomen, exercised Dublin, a three-year old pure bred Olde English Bulldogge, at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter on the west side of Willmar. Over 250 adults, teens and children began their Memorial Day weekend by taking part in the 9th annual Law Day/Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk which departed from the Flags of Honor at 9 a.m. Saturday morning in Willmar.
