Participants begin their trek Thursday around Foot Lake in Willmar during the area's first Awareness Walk for Mental Health. The walk was sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Kandiyohi County. The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a mental health advocacy organization. According to the group's Web site, there are state organizations in all 50 states and more than 1,200 local affiliates as well. (Tribune photo by Ron Adams)
