The home of Scott and Amanda Marquardt sustained heavy damage in the July 11 tornado that struck Litchfield. With the help of the community, the Marquardts have kept up with a busy baseball and softball season despite being forced from their home.

Bill Taunton Stadium grounds were flooded Thursday morning after heavy rainfall Wednesday night into Thursday. The water level around the fire hydrant illustrates well the 8.2-inch  official rainfall total in Willmar. The National Weather Service said some areas could have gotten more, however. As the rain falls Friday afternoon at the Church of the Nazarene in Willmar, members of the American Red Cross hand out free cleanup kits to those affected by the rain and flooding. Over 100 kits were handed out Friday and another 200 were planned to be delivered at 9 a.m. Saturday. (Shelby Lindrud / Tribune)
