The Willmar City Council is considering amending the land write-down policy and business subsidy policy. The policies allow businesses to reduce the purchase price of land in the Industrial Park by bringing in new jobs and increasing the property's tax value.

The city of Willmar has approved a land sale and business subsidy agreement with ISCO Inc., on behalf of Buhler-Versatile Inc. The company is purchasing a 5.9-acre lot located just south of Bühler's manufacturing facility in the Willmar Industrial Park.

Commonwealth Development Corperation is hoping to build a 45-unit workforce housing project in Willmar, near the new Lakeland Elementary. This is a concept drawing from an earlier project, but regional Vice President of Development Erin Anderson said a similar design could work in Willmar.

Energy & Organic Systems and the city of Willmar are continuing to discuss a waste bioconversion system near the city's wastewater treatment facility. The system would take the biosolids from the treatment plant and turn them into natural gas.
