Willmar police responded to a report of suicidal man July 23 in Willmar and the call ended with two officers shooting the male who had a gun. A month later, both the officers involved are back on duty and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is wrapping up the investigation.

Two officers from the Willmar Police Department remain on standard leave as the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigates a shooting Sunday on the 400 block of 11th Street Northwest of Willmar. Dash cam video did not capture the events in the backyard of the home, and the city of Willmar is still in the process of equipping officers with body cameras.

Willmar Police and Minnesota State Patrol officers respond to what was reported as an officer-involved shooting Sunday on the 400 block of 11th Street Northwest of Willmar. Personnel from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension also responded to the scene.
