Tipped scaffolding rested against the building Wednesday at the Lakeland Elementary school in Willmar. The Scaffolding fell around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday due to high winds, which  reached 50 miles per hour. Double J Concrete and Masonry will fix the scaffold once the wind danger subsides.play button

A colorful map from the National Weather Service shows extreme weather conditions that continue to persist throughout the southern half of Minnesota. Willmar, and most of southern Minnesota in the tan-colored area, is under a wind advisory expected to expire at 3 p.m. Monday. Southeastern Minnesota towns in the gold-colored area like Marshall and Worthington are under a high wind warning.

City crews worked to remove a fallen tree Monday morning on the 100 block of Minnesota Avenue Southwest in Willmar. A major branch from a tree was blown down by high winds Monday morning and fell onto a parked car on the street. Much of west central Minnesota remains under a high wind warning until 6 p.m. Monday night.play button
