Local law enforcement officers urge drivers to have winter survival supplies in their vehicle before attempting to drive in adverse weather conditions. Sleeping bags, boots and additional clothing will help a person survive the cold, and jumper cables and a tow rope will come in handy for other mishaps during the cold weather. The ice cover on Foot Lake in Willmar was retreating from shore on Friday. The Spicer fisheries crew will begin assessing some of the shallow lakes in the region this coming week for possible fish kill.
