A crew from Wee Kut Ice Company harvests ice from Green Lake Saturday in Spicer where construction of a Winterfest Ice Castle began over the weekend.  Blocks of ice were cut from the lake and lifted out of the water using a conveyor made to lift the heavy blocks.

Plungers, who round up pledges to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota, often wear costumes for the occasion. More than 250 plungers took the bone-chilling dip Saturday for the 13th annual event, held in conjunction with Spicer's Winterfest. The fundraiser is organized by area law enforcement ment agencies. The display makes up a portion of the 4th annual Art Exhibit and Wine Tasting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Melvin's on the Lake in Spicer.
