The Renville County Sheriff's Office reports a 16-year-old driver hit a road washout Tuesday morning, July 3, 2018, on 720th Avenue in Flora Township in southern Renville County. The location was on , approximately two miles north of Redwood Falls. The driver survived due to his seat belt and airbags, according to law enforcement officials.

A city of Willmar snowplow drives west on the 300 block of Trott Avenue Southwest in Willmar, clearing the roads during the snowstorm Monday afternoon. The late-winter storm brought everything from freezing rain to snow throughout Monday, and blustery winds added to difficult travel conditions across much of Minnesota.

Cole Tensen, his wife and two young children evacuated their upstairs bedroom shortly before a large tree crashed into their Belgrade home during a storm last week. National Weather Service meteorologists confirmed a total of six tornadoes overnight Sept. 19 and Sept. 20, five of them in west central Minnesota.
