The sale of a 154-acre parcel at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Kandiyohi County Road 40 to Sibley State Park wascompleted June 20. The land was purchased by the Parks & Trails Council in 2014 to support a future trail connection between the park and the Glacial Lakes State Trail.

A barge from Oakes Lawn Service pushes a section of a large bog that was blocking the channel between Norway Lake and Games Lake in northern Kandiyohi County. In a process that took about about six hours Friday, the bog was broken into chunks and pushed away by volunteers in boats and pontoons. The bog is temporarily staked near state-owned land and will be excavated and removed later this summer.
