MACCRAY voters rejected the  $38.8 million bond proposal for a single campus in Clara City. Workers are completing work on the Taurus Community Solar Garden project on the east side of Montevideo. It consists of three, co-located one megawatt solar plants. Its one of three solar garden projects undertaken in Chippewa County this past year by Geronimo Energy for the Excel Energy's Solar Rewards Community Program.

Geese take advantage of a temporary lake at Vos Park in Willmar on Thursday. Heavy rains fell in the region overnight, with 4.11 inches officially recorded in Willmar and 9.45 inches in Redwood Falls. The Granite Falls, Maynard and Clara City area and an area from Bird Island to Morton recorded amounts of 6 inches and more.

Streambank erosion remains a concern in Hawk Creek, which flows 65 miles from its start at Eagle Lake in Kandiyohi County to its confluence with the Minnesota River near the Upper Sioux Agency State Park. Large quantities of water at high velocity erode the banks during rain events and snowmelt periods.
