I must respond to the letter: Buying influence from Russia submitted by Earl Pederson. He writes, "Why would the Russians want to collude with the Trump campaign when Hillary Clinton already had sold 20 percent of our uranium to the Russians?" This story is false. If you have any doubts, do a simple Internet search and you will find this has been debunked by numerous reputable sources including CNBC, Factcheck, Politifact, Snopes, Vox, and so on.
In a year where people are growing increasingly frustrated with the disgusting level of gridlock in politics, I take it as a badge of honor that the West Central Tribune said that I was a candidate who offends both of the entrenched political parties. When I was in office, I thought about loyalty to the citizens of my district before I thought about loyalty to my party. Did this ruffle some feathers on both sides of the aisle? Sometimes. But as a state and a nation, we are getting nowhere by waiting for the two-party system to stop bickering long enough to act.
