BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (AP) — A St. Paul science teacher has been named Minnesota's Teacher of the Year for 2013. Megan Olivia Hall teaches grades 7-12 at the Open World Learning Community in St. Paul. She was presented with the award Sunday. Hall had once planned on a career as a doctor, but decided to become a teacher after volunteering and teaching music at St. Joseph's Home for Children in Minneapolis. She says the experience showed her she belonged in a classroom and not a hospital.
