Majority President Dan McGrath said the annual anti-tax rally is the biggest annual conservative gathering in the state and is particularly important this year after a tough election for Republicans. (AP) — The Red Lake Tribal Council is hosting its annual Youth Leadership Conference this week — and it will feature an appearance by an American Indian actor who was in the "Twilight" movies. Chaske (CHAS'-Kay) Spencer will give a motivational speech Thursday and speak at a banquet that evening. Spencer played the role of werewolf leader Sam Uley in the "Twilight" films. Spencer was born into the Lakota Sioux tribe and was raised on reservations in Montana and Idaho. This is the sixth year of the youth leadership conference.

Kahn released a statement after NBA.com reported Taylor had decided to fire him and was negotiating with Flip Saunders to be the new president. Kahn said he didn’t expect to meet with Taylor until after coach Rick Adelman informs the team about his plans for next season.
