COLD SPRING (AP) — The part-time officer who was working with a Cold Spring police officer when he was killed has resigned. Cold Spring-Richmond Police Chief Phil Jones tells the St. Cloud Times ( http://on.sctimes.com/XacpMM ) that Greg Reiter submitted his resignation Jan. 10. He says Reiter is returning to his other job of hanging drywall.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers don’t take kindly to being pushed around. Blake Griffin had 26 points and 13 rebounds, and DeAndre Jordan added 16 points and 12 boards to lift the Los Angeles Clippers to a 96-90 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. Caron Butler had 19 points and Jamal Crawford scored 17 for the Clippers.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. economy shrank from October through December for the first time since the recession ended, hurt by the biggest cut in defense spending in 40 years, fewer exports and sluggish growth in company stockpiles. The decline occurred despite faster growth in consumer spending and business investment.
DETROIT (AP) -- Just three years out of bankruptcy, Chrysler posted a $1.7 billion profit in 2012 and said it expects to earn more than $2 billion this year. Improving U.S. auto sales - and better products at Chrysler - were the big reasons for the vast improvement over 2011's profit of $183 million. Chrysler sold 2.2 million cars and trucks worldwide last year, up 18 percent.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Most economists agree that Wednesday's snapshot of U.S. economic growth is going to look dismal. The consensus forecast from Factset is economic growth slowed sharply from October through December to an annual rate of 1.2 percent. That's down from a 3.1 percent rate in the July-September quarter and would be the slowest in nearly two years.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Fewer Minnesotans died as the result of domestic violence in 2012. An annual report from the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women says 18 people were killed in domestic violence situations last year, the lowest number since 1991. At least 14 women and one man were killed by a current or former partner. Three friends or family members died as a result of domestic violence. Coalition program manager Rebekah Moses says no children were killed in similar situations in 2012.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman has been trying to keep a lid on his wife’s health issues that caused him to be away from the team for three weeks. Mary Kay Adelman didn’t seem to understand why, so Rick Adelman has revealed that she has been suffering from seizures. Rick Adelman returned to the Timberwolves after his hiatus on Monday and declined to talk specifically about what was bothering his wife.
ST. PAUL (AP) — Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period and the Minnesota Wild snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2 on Tuesday night. With the Wild seemingly on their heels after giving up a two-goal lead, Bouchard took a pass from Torrey Mitchell near the blue line, zoomed past two Columbus defenders and beat goalie Steve Mason above his right glove. Mikko Koivu and Tom Gilbert also scored for Minnesota.
