MINNEAPOLIS - Protesters remained camped out at the Minneapolis police 4th Precinct this morning, the day of Jamar Clark's funeral. Clark died a day after being shot once in the head by a Minneapolis police officer Nov. 15. Since then, dozens to hundreds of people have been at the precinct continuously in protest of the shooting.
MINNEAPOLIS - Police have arrested two of three men sought in connection with Monday night shootings at a protest of Jamar Clark's shooting. Late this morning, a 23-year-old white man was arrested and early in the afternoon Minneapolis police reported the caught a 32-year-old Hispanic man. The first man was arrested at 11:20 a.m. in Bloomington. The second arrest came at 12:05 p.m. in south Minneapolis. Police said little else about the arrests.
ST. PAUL - Gov. Mark Dayton says a key piece of evidence in the Minneapolis police shooting of a young black man is inconclusive. "It doesn't show anything that would be any confirmation for one point of view or another," Dayton told reporters about an ambulance video he said probably lasted less than a minute.
ST. PAUL - Distracted drivers attract the full attention of the Minnesota State Patrol. Five new unmarked cars were added to the patrol fleet Monday so troopers can better find distracted drivers, such as those using mobile telephones and not paying as much attention to the roads as they should. Patrol officials say the unmarked cars will help save lives and protect motorists.
ST. PAUL - Former U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman has throat cancer. Coleman posted on his Facebook page Monday morning that he is being treated by doctors at Mayo Clinic and in the Twin Cities. "It is clear that my cancer, while serious, is very treatable and the prognosis is extremely positive," he said. Within minutes of the posting, friends began reacting, wishing him good luck.
